Bluebells at Arga Fen

Post by Lisa » Thu Apr 13, 2017 12:47 pm

The village grapevine, plus Amanda recently visited Spouses Wood (next to Arga Fen), says that the bluebells are already out in Hill House Wood. Worried that they may not be at their best on 6th May, the committee have decided to bring the photoshoot forward to Saturday 22nd April.
How does that suit members?

Hi Elaine,
It would be good to catch either the early morning or later afternoon light. I think members might be keener at catching the good light in the later afternoon but I don't mind. Ian is up for the afternoon so shall we say 2:30pm?? Does that fit in with you?

I can now confirm that the Aga Fen shoot will be this Saturday and we plan to meet at 2.30pm in the car park. The post code for sat nav users is CO8 5BN. If you get lost or can't find us my mobile number is 07511907427. There is a web site and a map if you are not familiar with the area.
There were 7 of us at the meeting last night who all indicated an intention to turn up, it would help if anyone who was not there last night but intends joining us a Aga Fen please let me know by e-mail preferably. Hope to see you Saturday, Colin

Hard to get an original bluebell shot I find. This time I found myself falling back on macro. I think this is my best one.

Good image Phil, like the contrast and the colour. Also like the subdued out of focus background, makes the Blue more intense.

Hi Phil !

I really like composition & the shape of your bluebell bloom, although personally I'm not so keen on the colour unfortunately.

I'm sure it was deliberate artistic effect to change the hue of the blue so it was more vivid than normal ...?

I guess I just like bluebells to be bluebell colour :D

Hoping to do mine in Cornwall next week if they are still about !

Hi Amanda. I've check back in the history of this one which shows similar colours and there was no change of hue, though I did increase the luminosity. I noticed that there is considerable variation in the colour of individual plants, so 'bluebell colour' covers quite a spectrum. I look forward to seeing your shots.
