Re: March Meeting

Thanks Robert for these shots. The York Minster Crypt is great with the sawtooth diagonals curling around the font (if that's what it is) making an arresting pattern of shadows - well seen and well taken. Phil

Re: Photo Affinity

I agree this is a very generous offer - 3 months' free trial and then get 50% off if you decide to buy. I strongly recommend Affinity Photo. Remember once bought there are no further payments required for future upgrades. Phil

Love Ed's three forks - was it inspired by André Kertesz I wonder - see https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=andre+kertesz+fork&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwid3JDJwqfoAhV0nVwKHcaMC7QQsAR6BAgKEAE&biw=2078&bih=1274#imgrc=oCXViskoGuqnbM Lisa your walnut tree shadow is nicely shaped and forms the m...

Re: March Meeting

Thanks Richie for posting these - a dramatic scene indeed. The fourth one works best for me - the shadows themselves make a strong contribution to the overall composition, but the central female figure seen in silhouette is also a crucial element, as are the flood lighting poles seen in the distance...

Re: March Meeting

Good to see all these photos - keep 'em coming! Trev I like your London shot very much - the strong shape of the central building framed by the darker ones on either side. Interesting how converging verticals are a plus here while in other shots they look as if they need correcting. Ian love your st...

Re: GD10 and beyond

Hi Jim - what a fount of good ideas you are! Love the photos of old Colch. I'd like to hear in more detail how you think the idea could be put into practice as a GD. Five old shots on top row with five corresponding modern shots below perhaps? Remember that as currently configured all the GD images ...

Re: Dawes Hall Photography Walk 27th Feb

I'm interested too. It's 10.00 to 2.00 and costs £7. This is the link to the booking page

https://www.dawshallnature.co.uk/bookin ... february-1

Booking seems to be open now. (I think 18 hours before the event is the latest you can book).

So far I have had a grand total of... well, it is too embarrassing to say, but it is still a long way from the target. So please please please... send me your Night Shots. Even if you did...

Re: Vacancy - The Slice Gallery Display Coordinator

As many of you will know, as from the end of March 2020 I am not expecting to be around very much, if at all, and will therefore not be able to continue in my current role of Slice Gallery Display Coordinator. So, CCS is on the hunt for someone to replace me in that role - or maybe two people as th...

Re: Slice Group Display

Request for images . GD9 Theme - NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY. This is the theme for the NEXT Slice Group Display. The current display - GD8 Canal Boats - is due to run until March 2020, so this request for images might seem a bit premature. Two reasons for that - Night Photography was one of our themes at th...

Colchester Night Shoot October 2019

So, quite a good turn out. Hope every one had a fruitful evening. Don’t know if anyone went to the Cursor coffee bar as suggested at 9, but there was no-one there went I looked in. Hope it was because people were too busy shooting! Sorry but I will miss the November meeting, but perhaps some night s...
