Re: New website

It is very similar in design and content to the last one - the main difference being the member's profile page is displayed as a separate menu item and each member has a showcase image that when clicked, the viewer will be taken to an individual profile page. At the moment I am the only one with a ...

Further to last night's discussions, last year we had a slideshow with a large selection of member's images. We would like to do something similar this year but this time show only retrospective images taken in the past year i.e. images that have been shown at a meeting or taken specifically for one...

Long exposures for Wednesday's meeting

The theme for next Wednesday’s meeting is dahlias and long exposure. The committee realise there could be members of the group who aren’t sure what is meant by ‘long exposure ‘ photography and/or may not have the equipment to allow them to take such images. For those members who haven’t come across ...

Hi Trevor,
Wonderful light - it looks like a painting! I didn't realise it was a working aerodrome. I assumed it was abandoned and neglected.

Re: August Meeting

Hi Folks, For those wanting to do the Colchester Architecture shoot, I thought that we could meet in front of the First Site gallery - as parking nearby in Priory Street is cheap at 50p for the evening. There might also be some free parking available on East Hill. I know Alison, Amanda and myself ar...

New website

I have recently re-vamped the website which went live the other day. It was time to bring it into the 21st century. It should now display better on mobile devices and the contact form should now work properly. It is very similar in design and content to the last one - the main difference being the m...

Apologies I am unable to make the July meeting :o. I don't think I've ever missed two meetings in a row before  but I will be attending a family wedding. I have prepared a couple of monochrome images which I hope can be shown at the meeting.

Hi Phil, I am actually going to Durham for a few days from Sunday so won't be about on Tuesday for any testing but the projector is kept at the Hythe now anyway so you may be able to test it yourself if you can get access. I'll email you the combination for the lock even though I am going to see if ...

June Meeting

Hi Folks, I will be away for next week's meeting so thought I would let you know in advance because of the projector. If a Mac user would like to take over my role and show member’s images through their machine, it is just a matter of plugging in the white adapter (stored with projector) - no other ...

Re: The Slice Gallery Permanent Exhibition

I popped into the Slice for a cuppa on Tuesday and noticed that the Slice have installed an air conditioning unit upstairs on the wall above Phil's images. The unit does interfere with Phil's layout and one of his images has been moved from near the top of the wall to lower down - although the label...

Hi guys, I have now put up my Brompton and Chelsea images in my gallery. I really enjoyed the day even though I felt my photography brain seemed to be lacking especially at the Chelsea Physic Garden. I don't know whether I was just over awed with everything and didn't know what to focus on (excuse t...
