The Photography Show

Post by Ian-Raymant » Mon Feb 11, 2019 8:25 pm

Hi Everyone,

When the list was circulated during the December meeting and Colin asked for suggestions for events and photoshoots, I suggested a trip to the Photography Show. Having visited the show for the past 2 years I thought members may appreciate being made aware of this years event held at the NEC in Birmingham from Saturday 16 - Tuesday 19th March this year.
The show has something for everyone, covering all aspects of photography, with a whole host of lectures; this year featuring folk like Gordon Buchanan and Charlie Waite. The big players like Canon and Nikon have a big presence with lecture theatres of their own where they run tutorials on their products as well as talks on photographic techniques.
Just about every photographic aspect is represented and there are 3 retail stands, WEX, London Camera Exchange and Camera World, selling cameras, lenses, filters and just about every popular accessory you can imagine. At show discounts, last year 20% !!!
Tickets vary in price and are circa £12.00 per day [concessions for over 60's] and parking is £12.00 per day.
I have booked for Sunday 17th and Monday 18th, staying at the Holiday Inn about 1 mile away from the NEC.
If anyone is interested, I'm happy to explain in greater depth and help wherever possible.
Also happy to offer a lift to anyone wanting to go along[will have 1 spare seat] , provided they're okay with an early Sunday start, a 2 day trip and can book into a hotel close by.
Take a look at the Weblink The site has the complete list of exhibitors, lectures and show events.

If anyone is interested feel free to call or text me on 07872 932619

Looking forward to next Wednesday's practical.

Hi Ian, thanks for the info. Whilst I’m hoping to visit one year, I will have to give it a miss this year. Also I would probably do only the one day when I do.

Something to think about.
