Heybridge Basin and canal boats
Heybridge Basin and canal boats
We have in our program for July a day out in Heybridge Basin, photographing the canal and boats.
To establish which is the date that most members can make, I've added a poll to this message.
I've put all the Saturdays and Sundays in July - although there are a couple I can't make.

As late in month as possible as I may be having a minor surgery on a toenail next week so time to heal required.

It looks like my toe will remain untouched at least until 14th so I am to be there. Is there a meeting point as i don't know the area and will have to rely on sat nav.

Re: Heybridge Basin and canal boats
I haven't been to Heybridge Basin before so have been Googling. There is a car park called Daisy Meadow where we could meet which is near a pub and a cafe. It seems we could walk north towards the sailing club where there is a ship wreck or the other way along the canal. The high tide is at 11.47am. Does this affect where we go or what we shoot? According to BBC weather, it is suppose to be a nice warm day.

Most disappointed that I can’t make this, as I’ve been meaning to go with my camera for a long time. There is both the canal and the the estuary between Heybridge and Maldon. Just walk over the lock gates and keep going. One word of advice, the car park is quite small and gets very busy.
We’re in Cornwall until the 26th, so will miss the next meeting too. Hasn’t worked out very well as that’s the 3rd meeting I’ve missed through being there.

Aargh. 9:00 am. I probably won’t be there until 9:30 as it will take me about 1 hour to get there
but I can always look out for some shifty looking characters with cameras!-

I'll still get there for 9 as car parking is limited. There is a free car park (I assume that's where we are meeting) but this time of year it fills very quickly.
Re: Heybridge Basin and canal boats
I’ll be going, if anyone wants a lift from the Colchester area just let me know.

OK 9:00am to be on the safe side for parking it is (sorry Bruce). The carpark is called Daisy Meadows and it is free with 140 spaces.Jim Spurgeon wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:24 amI'll still get there for 9 as car parking is limited.
